Update 27/05/2018: Although Hugh and Anna still haven't officially confirmed the news, the couple were spotted together at the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix at Circuit de Monaco today (May 27) where Anna had a gold ring that looked very much like a wedding band on her left hand ring finger.

Original story: Congrats look set to be in order for Hugh Grant and Anna Eberstein, who appear to have tied the knot.

The Love Actually and A Very English Scandal star was reported to be engaged to Swedish producer Eberstein earlier this week.

However, according to People, they got married yesterday (May 25) at the Chelsea Register Office in London, and were seen with friends and family outside the venue.

Digital Spy has reached out to Hugh's representatives for comment.

Speculation first amounted over their engagement after wedding banns were posted at the register office, suggesting that they had a date set.

The pair have been dating for six years, and have three children together.

Meanwhile, Hugh recently revealed that he was retiring from making romantic comedies, claiming he was too ugly and old for such roles.

"I've always tried to take whatever was the most entertaining thing in front of me at the time," he said.

"And getting older and uglier has made the parts, you know, more varied. There used to be quite a big snobbery about, 'Oh, I'm a film star now, I don't do television', but that is eroding very fast. I saw [Robert] De Niro's now doing television."

He can currently be seen in the BBC's excellent new series A Very English Scandal, where he plays former Liberal Party leader Jeremy Thorpe.
