Hugh Jackman says even Wolverine needs COVID jab as he shares vaccination pics

Hugh Jackman told fans that even Wolverine needs the COVID vaccine as he shared pictures of himself having the jab.

The actor, 52, posted two images on Instagram of himself getting vaccinated.

Referencing his X-Men character’s ability to mend from the most life threatening of wounds, he told fans: “Wolverine’s healing ability can’t save me from Covid.

“But the vaccine can.”

“Get it!” urged the star.

The snaps showed Jackman clad in a black t-shirt and trousers, with his sleeve rolled up while he had the vaccination.

The post went down well with fans, who called the Australian star “a legend”.

“Awesome mate!!!! Well done. Thank you for being an inspiration!" said one follower on Instagram.

“The caption rocks!” said another.

“Woooo!!!! Thank you for using your platform to be a role model,” said another.

One fan said the person giving Jackman his jab must have had an “awesome” day “vaccinating the Wolverine”.

Jackman has starred as the character in the X-Men franchise since 2000.

The actor is the latest in a long line of celebrities to share that they have had their vaccines.

Celebrities who have already had the jab include Sir Elton John, Sir Michael Caine, Dame Joan Collins, Jackman’s fellow X-Men star Sir Ian McKellen, The Wanted's Tom Parker, 32, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour, and Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden, 30, who has Crohn's disease.

Phillip Schofield and Lorraine Kelly also recently revealed that they had had their first dose.
