When Thor: Ragnarok hits cinemas (very soon), some fans will be wondering what the Hulk has been up to since Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Fortunately, Mark Ruffalo has revealed that his character's giant skull bed in the upcoming movie is something of an Easter egg – and it tells a detailed backstory.

Ruffalo told CinemaBlend: "We had to basically figure out what happened, how he got there. He was captured like Thor was – that's how he knows Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and she becomes his coach along the way.

"He becomes the champion, they love him. He ends up beating the beast that the bed was made out of. That's the previous champion! He tore him in half, and made him his headboard. You do all that."

The poor beast – there's absolutely no dignity in being made into a headboard.

Meanwhile, a massive spoiler for Thor: Ragnarok may have leaked during a live interview with Thor stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.

The actors appeared on Australian talk show The Project, when one of the interviewers – asking a question – casually revealed an almighty twist that unfolds in the movie, seemingly not realising it was a huge spoiler.

Head over here if you want to find out more about the MAJOR SPOILER from Thor: Ragnarok – but you have been warned.

Thor: Ragnarok (which clocks in at 130 minutes) is released on October 24 in the UK and November 3 in the US – and it's already received the praise of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, so you know it's going to be good.
