The festive season in Hull city centre is set to commence this weekend with the first of a month-long series of Christmas markets - the first being at Zebedees Yard.

The Hull Christmas Festival will feature a traditional Christmas market, food and drink stalls, and stage entertainment for all ages. Street performers and complimentary face painting will be available throughout the day.

From 10am – 6pm, stalls will showcase a variety of handmade products, Christmas gifts, and hot and cold food options. The Boogie Bugle Babes and DJ Addy will provide festive entertainment throughout the day.

Following this weekend, themed markets will take place in Trinity Square every Saturday (7, 14 and 21 December), all featuring free face painting and street theatre. These markets will run from 11am to 4pm.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure said: “Now the festive season has officially begun following last week’s Christmas lights switch-on, this festival is another fantastic reason to visit the city centre.

“We have a fantastic selection of Christmas markets taking place every weekend through December, helping us all not only find something festive to do, but also shop local for gifts for family and family.

“Hull city centre really is the place to be this December!”
