Hull City will head to Staffordshire this evening looking to end a dismal run of form since Tim Walter took charge which has seen them fail to win any game under the German head coach.

Walter's first summer signing, Cody Drameh, believes three points against Stoke City, even if it's a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of a Potters own goal, could ignite what has been a dismal campaign so far.

Last Friday night's 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield United was City's second straight loss to Yorkshire opposition having been beaten by Leeds United before the international break, a result which ended a run of three straight draws against Bristol City, Plymouth Argyle and Millwall, to leave Walter's men marooned inside the bottom three after five games, and with the added embarrassment of being booed off so early in a new campaign.

Life at the bet365 Stadium has been far from rosy either for Stoke, who sacked manager Steven Schumacher on Monday after their third loss of the fledgeling campaign on Saturday

If City could find three points against the Potters, Drameh believes it could generate the momentum needed, especially with fellow strugglers Cardiff City due at the MKM Stadium next weekend.

"Definitely (so important to get a positive result), and that's the beauty of the Championship," the Tigers summer arrival told Hull Live. "One game goes and the next game comes, so I think definitely we're looking forward to that game. I think we learn from stuff (against the Blades) and then we are already really, really positive and work together. We work hard throughout the week, and hopefully we can get a result for the supporters."

Having scored just once from open play in their opening five games, Drameh admits he's not fussed how a goal comes, as long as it does, and helps the Tigers secure that elusive victory.

"Definitely (one result would life the mood), I think that's where it feels like right now, I feel like we're just waiting for something to fall for us. I think everything's in place, or it's getting to be in place. I think we just need something to fall for us.

"I don't really care if we go to Stoke we get a one-nil win, if they score own goal or whatever, I don't really care. I think, definitely we just need that win, we need something and hopefully it can ignite the start of something special."
