Hull City could be without Man of the Match Mohamed Belloumi for Tuesday night's trip to face QPR at Loftus Road, in what would be a major blow to the Tigers and boss Tim Walter.

Belloumi starred for City on Saturday as he bagged a brace in the 4-1 thumping of bottom side Cardiff City at the MKM Stadium, his first goals since joining the Tigers on deadline day at the end of last month.

The Algerian wing-wizard left the action early having been withdrawn a minute before the hour-mark in front of a bumper home crowd on a day the club celebrated its 120th birthday, replaced by Canadian international Liam Millar.

Speaking to Hull Live after City claimed a first home win under Tim Walter and just a third MKM Stadium success in 2024, the German boss confirmed Belloumi had picked up an ankle knock in a heavy first half challenge from Will Fish as he cleverly clipped past goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.

"He was injured a bit, so he needed to come off. He got a hit on the ankle after scoring the goal," said Walter, who has challenged his squad to step up, should the 22-year-old miss the trip.

"We have a good bench, and they showed it again. They are having a big impact for our game, and it's good to have them all. I love them, and how they play because that's what we need for the whole season. It's a long season, and we need all of them.

"I said it to the guys and to the lads in the meeting (before the game), we need all of them and that's the reason why we try to treat everybody the same and we try to behave as a family and that's what we showed, especially after conceding a goal.

"Could be," Walter then said when asked if the winger was a doubt for the trip to the capital. "We have a lot of players in our squad so everybody can step in. It's not about one player, it's about our squad. It's about our team, no one player can win a game. We've been winning games together and especially with our fans."
