A Mohamed Belloumi brace earned Hull City their first home win under Tim Walter as they came from a goal down to thump bottom side Cardiff City 4-1 at the MKM Stadium, on a day the club celebrated its 120th birthday.

City were a goal down inside 18 minutes when Callum Robinson sprung a shoddy offside trap to slam past Ivor Pandur, but the Tigers recovered brilliantly to score two fine goals through Mohamed Belloumi, his first for the club.

His first was a cross-cum-shot from the right side which angled beyond goalkeeper Jak Alnwick but his second was a clever clip over the goalkeeper. Oscar Zambrano made it 3-1 early in the second half as the Tigers took the game beyond the Bluebirds, and Chris Bedia scored his first from the penalty spot in the final minute.

Here's how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon....

Ivor Pandur: Exposed badly at times in the first half, could do little about the opening goal but made a couple of vital interventions as the game wore on. A couple of shaky moments but a largely positive afternoon. 7.5/10

Cody Drameh: Caught out for the opening goal, and a couple of other times courtesy of the lively Rubin Colwill. Better in the second period and played his part. 7/10

Sean McLoughlin: Booked in the first half as City struggled to deal with the movement of the Bluebirds up front. 7/10

Alfie Jones: Got his side out of jail early on after some overplaying at the back, grew into the game and was kept busy throughout. 7/10

Lewie Coyle: The skipper clocked up 150 appearances for his hometown club and gave a typically all-action display. 8/10

Regan Slater: Restored to the starting XI after his terrific appearance off the bench at Stoke, fired wide in the second after an energetic display. 7/10

Oscar Zambrano: As we've seen before, some nice bits and pieces, but the game has a habit of passing him by, at times. Got on the scoresheet with the crucial third goal. 7/10

Marvin Mehlem: Did some positive things, especially his perfectly weighted pass for Belloumi's second goal. A much better display. 7.5/10

Abdus Omur: Didn't really get into the first half, truth be told and that theme continued into the second half before he came off. Walter has to find a way to get more out of him. 6/10

Mohamed Belloumi: Scored two terrific goals, his second was special as he clipped over the goalkeeper, and but for a top save from Alnwick, would have had a hat-trick. 9/10

Chris Bedia: Worked really hard early on, created a brilliant chance for himself and would have scored but for a fine save, and did some very valuable work at the other end. Got his deserved goal from the penalty spot. 8/10

Subs:

Liam Millar (for Belloumi 59): Will have been annoyed not to start, but was bright in the second period, fizzed one at goal when he moved back onto the right. 7/10

Kasey Palmer (for Slater 72): Good to see him back on the pitch after his midweek injury concerns. 6/10

Abu Kamara (for Omur 72): Won the penalty for Bedia to add the fourth after being clattered inside the box. 6,5/10

Xavier Simons (for Zambrano 73): Another good runout for the former Chelsea midfielder, after his cameo a week ago. 6/10

Steven Alzate (for Mehlem 82): A first look at the ex-Brighton man, and no doubt, moving forward, we'll see more. 6/10
