Another disappointing home display left many of the 22,500 inside the MKM Stadium heading for the exit doors early as they watched their hapless Hull City side beaten 2-0 by Sheffield United.

City's chaotic style was naturally their undoing after 15 minutes when a really good attack from the hosts saw them robbed outside the Blades box, and from there, a quick counter-attack saw Callum O'Hare feed Gustavo Hamer to rattle in the opening goal.

A second half corner for the Tigers ended up in the back of their net when substitute Sam McCallum came off the bench to finish another swift counter-attack and kill the game off.

Here's how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players under the Friday night lights....

Ivor Pandur: Saw plenty of the ball, too much some would say. Possible questions over his positioning for Hamer's opener. Smart save to deny Vini Souza early in the second half. Beaten again shortly after. 6/10

Ryan Giles: Tried to get forward to support Kamara. Was the sole man chasing back when the Blades countered to score the opening goal. Another to be removed at the break. 5/10

Sean McLoughlin: Has to be more positive when he breaks the line and play a forward pass, instead of turning and going back to his own goal. 6/10

Alfie Jones: Needed all his experience to halt O'Hare and Moore from scoring in the first half. Will be angered by the manner of the second goal. 6/10

Lewie Coyle: One of City's better performers in a chaotic first period and again in the second half. Carved out the best chance when Mehlem headed against the bar. 6.5/10

Fin Burns: Looked a tad lost in the defensive midfield role, gave away two fouls on the edge of the Blades' box which suggested a lack of match sharpness, booked for the second. 5/10

Marvin Mehlem: Largely anonymous in the first period. Wasn't strong enough when in a good attacking position. Headed against the bar in the second half but should have scored. 5/10

Abdus Omur: Some nice touches and looked more at ease in a central role. Hit the target with a dipping free-kick. Tried to make things happen. 6/10

Abu Kamara: City's biggest threat on his debut, always looked to get forward and take players on and as a consequence, carried a threat. Surprised to see him hooked at the break. 7/10

Mohamed Belloumi: Struggled in the first half and him being overpowered with ease was crucial in the build-up to the opening goal, but should have had more protection. Harsh baptism of fire in the Championship. 6/10

Chris Bedia: Worked hard, closed down the goalkeeper and had a decent opening but was fouled when he should have played in Belloumi. Poked wide late on when he should have scored. 5/10

Subs:

Cody Drameh (for Giles 46): Sporting a shaven head, buzzed around plenty in the second half playing out of position on the left of the back four. 6/10

Liam Millar (for Kamara 46): Was lively enough when he came on, tried to get things going on the left. Curled one wide midway through the second period. 6/10

Kasey Palmer (for Belloumi 68): Showed some nice touches but the game was gone. 6/10

Regan Slater (for Burns 68): Injected some fire in the Tigers midfield but his arrival came too late, after the second goal. 6/10
