Hull court list: Eight offenders named and shamed
A man who carried a kitchen knife in public, stole a vehicle, shoplifted and subjected a person to a verbal assault was jailed by magistrates in Hull last week.
While some cases were adjourned to a later date and others sent to Hull Crown Court, many people from across Hull and East Yorkshire have been sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court in recent days - including violent offenders, shoplifters and a man who failed to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders' register.
Here are eight people who were sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court last week.

Richard Brosch, 51, of Dee Street, Hull indicated a plea of guilty to the possession of a kitchen knife in a public place and pleaded guilty to one count of the theft of a motor vehicle, one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence, one count of theft from a shop, one count of attempted theft from a shop and one count of criminal damage. He was jailed for eight months.
Harrison Foster, 34, of no fixed abode indicated two pleas of guilty to the common assault of two emergency workers, namely two PCSOs, and to two counts of assault by beating. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a shop in which he stole £50 worth of boxes of chocolate from Tesco, £8.50 worth of wine from Asda, one count of criminal damage in which he damaged holding cells and one count of refusing to provide a sample for a class A drugs test. He was jailed for 40 weeks and ordered to pay £258.50 in compensation.
Gavin Smith, 53, of no fixed abode indicated pleas of guilty to two counts of assault by beating against an emergency worker, namely two security officers, and pleaded guilty to one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence. He was jailed for five months.
Patrick Blanche, 41, of Russell Street, Hull pleaded guilty to 12 counts of theft from a shop in which he stole £450 worth of items from various shops. He was jailed for 13 weeks and ordered to pay £70 in compensation.
David Lake, 58, of no fixed abode indicated a plea of guilty to failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders' register by failing to notify police of an address or location he can be found as per the weekly requirement. He was given a six-month suspended sentence order.

Shaun Dimbleby, 40, of Holderness Road, Hull indicated pleas of guilty to two counts of common assault against an emergency worker, namely two police constables. He was ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
Chontelle Baxter, 32, of Harrington Road, Bridlington pleaded guilty to two counts of theft in which she stole £100 worth of chicken tenders from Farmfoods. She was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 in compensation, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £26 victim services surcharge.
Louis Chearman, 33, of Ganton Avenue, Cottingham indicated a plea of guilty to the criminal damage of a rear windscreen of a car. He was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £300 in compensation, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £26 victim services surcharge.
