Will Kirby will make his Hull FC first-team debut against Salford Red Devils this Sunday afternoon with Simon Grix selecting the 18-year-old in the back row position. Kirby, one of the shining lights in the academy side, is the third player to debut this year following Jack Charles and Logan Moy.

A fiery edge forward, Kirby just missed out on England Academy selection this week, with the player on standby to play. He has had a stellar season in the lower grades, with a sequence of fierce performances under his belt and now gets his first shot at the Super League competition.

Moy, meanwhile, starts at full-back once again, with Hull backing their young guns to shine over the Pennines. They have another on the wing in Lewis Martin, with experience completing the three quarter line in Tom Briscoe, Carlos Tuimavave, and Liam Sutcliffe. Jake Trueman is paired in the halves once again by Ben Reynolds, with the duo playing their fifth game together.

Up front, Herman Ese’ese starts alongside Yusuf Aydin at prop. Danny Houghton is at hooker, with Kirby joined in the back row by Jordan Lane, who is now Hull’s only ever present player for this season. Ligi Sao is at loose-forward.

Denive Balmforth is named on the bench after signing a new one-year deal at the club last month. He is joined by Brad Fash, Will Gardiner, and Tiaki Chan. Zach Jebson is the 18th man.
