Hull Kingston Rovers are to announce their highest average attendance in club history tomorrow night against Leeds Rhinos - with the final figure to be confirmed then and set to be over 9,800.

It reflects the collective hard work of management and staff, on and off the pitch, with the team already guaranteed a highest league finish in the Super League era and with off-pitch initiatives such as Craven Streat, involving food, drink and music, being popular.

In the club's 143-year history of league games, the best average attendance figure had been 8,887 in the 1980-81 season, when the Robins were also flying high. In the Super League era, average attendances have always been above 7,000 - with six of those seasons seeing the 8,000 barrier broken. Last season when Rovers finished fourth, their joint-highest finish in the Super League era, they recorded their Super League highest average attendance of 8,770. This season's efforts have seen a huge rise though, with regular sell-outs.

The attendance for tomorrow night's game against Leeds, when it is announced, will be the highest of the season so far - with the previous best being 10,201 against London Broncos. The reason that the highest figure was not in the Hull derby is because the club took the segregation line out for the London game, so they were able to sell extra tickets instead of having safety netting. The second biggest was against St Helens when there was a crowd of 10,171, with Hull FC being next with a figure of 10,149. The lowest was the other game against London when there were 9,346. Even against Catalans Dragons, there were 9,579 despite the lack of away supporters.

Popular areas such as the East Stand have been selling out rapidly already - and, with memberships for 2025 soon to be put on sale, there is already much interest in the new East Stand section. That means the club are already positive about setting another impressive attendance record for next year.
