Hull KR's road to Old Trafford becomes clearer with play-off details confirmed
Super League have confirmed the dates ahead of the play-offs as clubs begin to plot their path to the Grand Final. The Old Trafford spectacle will take place on Saturday, October 12th, but it will be preceeded by two weeks of eliminators to determine who plays in the competition's showpiece event next month.
With two rounds of the season remaining, only three clubs; Wigan Warriors, Hull KR and Warrington Wolves, have secured their place in the top six. Those three clubs are still battling it out for the League Leaders' Shield as well as the right to play at home in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, five other clubs are still fighting to ensure they end the season in the play-off picture.
Salford Red Devils, Leigh Leopards, St Helens, Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons are all in with a shot of filling the remaining top six positions, with results in the final two rounds to determine who will extend their season.

Both weeks of the play-offs will see games played on Friday and Saturday. All games are straight eliminators, though the teams who finish first and second in the league will receive a bye week and head to the semi-finals in week two, while also having the advantage of a home semi-final.
For the remaining four teams, they will battle it out on either Friday, September 27th, or a day later on Saturday, September 28th. The teams finishing fourth and fifth will clash first, followed by the team finishing third hosting the team in fifth.
The week later, the League Leaders' Shield winners will play on the Saturday, taking on the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition. The day before, on October, Friday 4th, the team finishing second will play the highest-ranked side to come through the first week.
All games will be televise on Sky Sports while the BBC will make history by broadcasting play-off games for the first time. They will show both Saturday play-off games on BBC two.
