Hull Parkrun announces comeback date after East Park footpath works delayed
Hull Parkrun has reassured its runners the event will be returning later this month after footpath improvement works in East Park forced the organisers to cancel Saturday's run.
There will be no Parkrun on Saturday, November 16, but it will be returning the following week on Saturday, November 23. Organisers are looking for volunteers to help the event run smoothly, such as marshals and course set-up, with the roster showing lots of spaces to fill.
In a Facebook post, the organisers said: "So, it’s been a busy week from a social media point of view - and we’re aware that the conflicting stories are causing confusion - so it’s great to be able to bring you all up to date.

"As you know, our core team have, also, been busy working on an alternative course - and we’d like to thank the park staff and parkrun HQ for their amazing support, too - as we take the final steps in getting us back up and running.
"Sadly, we do need to cancel our event this Saturday, 16th November - but, we will be looking for a team of volunteers - for our restart on Saturday, 23rd November.
"Thank you for all the lovely messages - it’s been humbling to realise just how much our parkrun mornings have been missed - and we really can’t wait to be back together, again."
A Hull City Council spokesperson said: "We sympathise with parkrun and their runners, and understand the inconvenience caused by the delay. Due to supplier issues, the footpath improvement scheme in East Park has been delayed. The council is working with the supplier to resume the works as soon as possible and will provide a new completion date as soon as possible."
If anyone wants to help out Hull Parkrun they can email hull@parkrun.com to volunteer for a future date. Volunteers can also turn up on the day and offer their help.
