Hull Parkrun looking for 'alternative course' due to footpath delays at East Park
Hull City Council has addressed the 'inconvenience caused' by delays to the East Park footpath improvement scheme.
Delays to the ongoing improvements being made to the footpaths have placed a hurdle in the way of the parkrun that usually takes place every Saturday at East Park.
Despite reports that the parkrun is to be cancelled until the new year, a spokesperson from Hull Parkrun has told the Local Democracy Reporting Service they are "working on an alternative course that will hopefully, we will be able to put into place pretty soon," they also confirmed that events will be ran over the Christmas period.

A Hull City Council spokesperson said: "We sympathise with parkrun and their runners, and understand the inconvenience caused by the delay. Due to supplier issues, the footpath improvement scheme in East Park has been delayed. The council is working with the supplier to resume the works as soon as possible and will provide a new completion date as soon as possible."
The delays to the East Park improvements have been criticised by Labour members of Hull City Council. Hull Labour Councillors released a statement which read: "Runners are rightly angry that Hull's biggest Park Run is cancelled," they added "the simple East Park repair job has over-run, leaving hundreds of Saturday runners stalled."
