As winter rolls in, talk often turns to the weather forecast.

While some will be hoping for a white Christmas, many others will be dreading the bad weather which could lead to travel disruption and needing to put your heating on more frequently.

A cold weather alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and will be in place until Saturday, November 23 at 6pm. It comes as temperatures have plunged across Hull and East Yorkshire, with a risk of snow in some areas.

The latest weather alert warns of an increased risk to vulnerable people, as well as an increase in demand for health services.
