Human remains found inside a pickup in Bay Roberts deemed a suspicious death
Investigators are probing what they're calling a suspicious death after human remains were found on Monday inside a pickup on a dirt road in Bay Roberts, along Newfoundland's Conception Bay.
The RCMP confirmed in a Wednesday afternoon news release that its major crimes unit is investigating, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also involved.
The pickup, a blue 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, was discovered Monday morning on Country Road.
CBC News also obtained photographs of the truck, engulfed in flames.
The RCMP are asking anyone who may have spotted this blue Chevrolet Colorado pickup in the Bay Roberts areas during the early hours of Monday morning to contact investigators. (RCMP)
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jolene Garland was unable to confirm whether it was the same pickup in which the remains were discovered.
Investigators have not released the identity of the remains, an age or gender.
Anyone who may have sighted the pickup between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. NT on Sept. 30 are also asked to contact the RCMP.
