Indonesian officials said on January 10 that a search boat docked at a Jakarta port with five body bags containing human remains found at the site of the Sriwijaya Air crash. The flight’s black box recorder was also located.
This footage from the Indonesian Red Cross was described as showing the remains being taken to a hospital in Jakarta. People can be seen gathered in the street, and a tent for “disaster victim identification” is also visible.
Sriwijaya Air said in a statement that the plane lost contact at 2:40 pm local time on January 9. The aircraft was manned by six crew members and was carrying 56 passengers, 10 of whom were children, and six of whom were airline staff, the airline said. Credit: Indonesian Red Cross via Storyful
