Human remains uncovered next to Oldbury Cemetery

Human remains have been uncovered in Sandwell. There has been a noticeable police presence at Oldbury Cemetery following the discovery.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to the line near Langley Green railway station at around noon on Wednesday, January 15. It followed a report of human remains being found during the work of ecologists in the cemetery in St Paul's Road.

The remains were found lineside, on the border between the cemetery and the railway lines. Enquiries were said to be 'ongoing' as officers remained at the scene on this afternoon (Tuesday, January 21).

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line near Langley Green railway station at around 12pm on Wednesday, January 15. following the report of human remains being uncovered during the work of ecologists in a cemetery adjacent to the location. Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
