Humans cast member Will Tudor is predicting another big time jump for the sci-fi series if it returns.

Channel 4 and AMC are yet to officially order a fourth season, after the third ended with not one but two huge cliffhangers.

July's finale saw Niska (Emily Berrington) evolve into an omniscient, all-knowing Synth, while Mattie (Lucy Carless) discovered that she was carrying a part-human, part-synthetic child.

"Where it’s been left is a very exciting moment," Tudor told Digital Spy. "And as with the [time] jump between series two and three, I imagine there will have to be a big jump between three and four, in terms of where the world is."

Tudor made a surprise return to Humans in the third series – his Synth character Odi appeared to have been permanently shut down at the close of the previous series, but Odi's form was later revealed to have been taken over by the artificial intelligence known as V, now also played by Tudor.

"Obviously where Odi was left at the end of series two, we thought he’s gone," he explained. "So when they [series creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley] told me this story, I was so excited.

"And what’s great, as well, is putting the two storylines together, having V come back [from series two]. I was watching back again… watching all of Carrie-Anne Moss’s scenes [as V's creator Athena Morrow] to get what I could about that character."

Though Tudor said it was "a joy" to be back on Humans, he did admit to missing his original character of Odi, the malfunctioning but sweet-natured Synth. "I did miss plying Odi. It’s funny, in series two, the way I’d get into his physicality was very specific, and I missed the routine of that."

Following Niska's evolution, it seems certain that the reborn V would continue to play a part on Humans, if the series returns. "I would never say no to that show," Tudor insisted. "I love it!"

Will Tudor stars in Torvill & Dean, airing Christmas Day at 9.15pm on ITV.
