Humberside Police Federation has expressed "significant concerns about the Humberside Police executive leadership team".

The Federation's condemnation of the force's leadership team comes following the release of a performance report from His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).

HMICFRS's report into Humberside Police was largely complimentary, with the force's temporary Chief Constable, Judi Heaton, saying: “I am delighted with the report, which is a true testament and credit to all officers, staff and volunteers who have contributed and played their part in this achievement."

Despite the largely positive findings, the report did declare that Humberside Police's ability to investigate crime "requires improvement".

The force has also been criticised by His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary Andy Cooke who expressed concerns about the "instability" of Humberside Police's executive leadership team.

Humberside Police Federation's statement claims the executive leadership team has been "openly dismissive of all concerns raised about the force by both Mr Cooke and the HMICFRS inspection report".

The Federation claims to have been "inundated with phone calls from our members expressing their upset and disappointment about the executive leadership team’s attitude to the report, with some members being brought to tears".

They added: "As a Federation, we feel that the excellent hard work that is being undertaken by our members across Humberside is being undermined by the inability of the executive leadership team to accept or learn from constructive criticism and feedback. This cannot continue."

Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Jonathan Evison, has responded to the Federation's statement, saying "I am disappointed that officers have felt the need to raise concerns in this way."

He added: "I would encourage all associations to inform their members of the appropriate routes to raise concerns."
