Hundreds of cannabis plants found at abandoned Tewkesbury property

Police have seized hundreds of cannabis plants which were found growing in an abandoned building. Officers found over 200 plants at an empty property in Withyridge Gardens, Tewkesbury, on Monday, September 30.

Information received from the public that the address was suspected to have been used to grow the Class B drug. In total, police found and seized 258 cannabis plants along with other drug paraphernalia.

The plants have since been destroyed. Police continue their investigation into the cannabis farm as no arrests have been made at the time of reporting.

Sergeant Lucy Winterburn said: "It is thanks to information from the public that we were able to carry out these actions which disrupt drug activity in our area. The people growing these drugs are exploiting the vulnerable and creating fear and misery in our communities.

"We will continue to do all we can to stop these criminals and bring them to justice. I would urge anyone with information to continue to speak to us and report any concerns so we can take the appropriate action."
