Police raided a building in a rural Leicestershire village and discovered hundreds of cannabis plants. Officers from Leicestershire Police went to a disused farm building in Walton, near Lutterworth, which they had identified as a cannabis factory.

Inside, they discovered more than 400 plants, as well as lighting and insulation associated with illegal grows. Engineers from National Grid were called in to make sure the power supply was switched off and the plants were removed.

No arrests have been made and the police said their investigation into the discovery, which happened on Tuesday (September 24), was ongoing.

Officers revealed the find in a post on social media today (Wednesday, September 25). One person commenting on the post said: "A few years ago there was a big one found at Lutterworth a few miles up the road. Before that, one at a market garden near Walcott - again not far away.

"Think they've soon got to find somewhere else - another country perhaps."
