Hundreds of Firefighters Battle Blazes Burning Across New South Wales
Hundreds of firefighters in Australia battled blazes across New South Wales after a total fire ban was issued for parts of the state on Wednesday, September 20.
Footage posted by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) shows a fire burning at the Monkerai Nature Reserve, north east of Dungog.
Firefighters said the blaze was being fanned by strong winds and was burning in an easterly direction.
There was no threat to properties but residents were urged to stay on high alert and monitor the conditions.
NSWRFS said as of 1pm on September 20 there were 65 fires burning around the state, with 19 yet to be contained.
