Hundreds Party in Tel Aviv, Violating COVID Restrictions Ahead of Purim Curfew

Hundreds of people partied on the streets of Tel Aviv on February 24, violating COVID restrictions and ahead of a nationwide nightly curfew to be imposed over the Purim holiday period.

Footage by Itay Blumental, a reporter with Ynet News, shows people dancing on Sderot Rothschild in Tel Aviv.

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein condemned the gatherings on Facebook, calling them “contagion parties”.

The Times of Israel said most of the revelers dispersed when police arrived, without receiving fines.

A nighttime curfew was scheduled to being at 8:30 pm on Thursday evening, February 25. The curfew would also apply the following night, up to 5 am on Saturday. Credit: Itay Blumental/Ynet News via Storyful
