Hundreds pay tribute to Plymouth dad Steven Barnes after body is found

Hundreds of people have paid tribute to Plymouth man Steven Barnes after a body was found in the search for him. The 32-year-old father was reported missing on Monday, June 3, after he was seen leaving Derriford Hospital emergency department.

Police issued an urgent appeal to find Steven as they were concerned for his welfare. Sadly, a body was found in the search yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, June 5, which is thought to be that of Mr Barnes.

Hundreds of people have taken to social media to pay tribute to him. He has been described as a "lovely man" who "had so much to give".

Expressing their heartfelt condolences for Steven's family, people said: "I’m so so sorry for you loss thinking of you all massively" and "Thinking of you all at this awful time".

Tributes continue to flood in, offering words of support for Steven's family. One person said: "Ive got no words for how you must be feeling. I only hope you get the space and time you need to somehow get your head and heart around this. Sending love to whole family"

Formal identification is yet to take place, but Mr Barnes' family has been informed. The death is not thought to be suspicious.
