Hundreds Rescued in the Mediterranean Off Sicily in a Single Day

Hundreds of refugees and migrants were rescued on March 2 in the sea between Sicily and Tunisia, according to reports, in six operations coordinated by the Italian Coast Guard.

The Italian Coast Guard ship Dattilo, the Norwegian ship Siem Pilot, and the ships Golfo Azzurro and Aquarius reportedly worked together in the operation.
