Hundreds of Tickets Cancelled After Victoria's Speed Cameras Infected With Software Virus

Speeding and red light traffic cameras in Victoria were infected by a software virus for about two weeks, police confirmed on Friday, June 23.

According to Channel 9 News, a maintenance worker accidentally uploaded the infected file, spreading malware to 55 cameras.

Most of them were in the inner city area of Melbourne, Acting Deputy Commissioner Ross Guenther said on Friday, adding 590 traffic infringements issued between June 6 and June 22 would be cancelled. Credit: Victoria Police via Storyful
