Sam Claflin and Laura Haddock split: Hunger Games star and wife of five years confirm breakup

Sam Claflin and his wife Laura Haddock have split after six years of marriage.

The actor, 33, and actress, 33, are believed to have started dating in 2011 and married in July 2013. They have two children, Pip, three, and Margot, one.

Claflin, who has starred in The Hunger Games, Me Before You and Peaky Blinders, confirmed they are “legally separating” in a statement last night.

He wrote on Instagram: “We will move forward with nothing but love, friendship and a deep respect for one another, while we continue to raise our family together.

“We won’t be commenting on this further. Thank you in advance for your support and respecting our privacy at this time. Both of us x”.

Haddock has starred in Guardians of the Galaxy as Meredith Quill and Viviane Wembly in Transformers: The Last Knight.

Claflin previously posted a heartfelt message to his wife on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, saying: “From the beginning... and until the end. I love you. Happy Valentine’s Day wifey.

And on Mother’s Day last year, he referred to her as his “best teammate in life”, adding: “ We three (four with Rosie) love you beyond the moon. You’re such a huge, positive, driving force for us all and we’re so lucky to be navigating this world with you as our guide. Thank you for being you. We’re a team. A tribe. And you our teacher. Love you. Happy Mother’s Day.”

Haddock also confessed her love for Claflin, writing on her Instagram page earlier this year: “My valentine. Thank you for being the greatest hubs, the greatest dad and more organised than anyone I know.”
