Hungry Bear Chased Out of California Home After Eating Chocolate Cake

A freshly baked chocolate cake proved just right for a bear in the Los Angeles suburbs that managed to scoff the treat before being chased off by police.

In a post on Facebook, the Simi Valley Police Department said they received a call on Sunday, September 4, from a resident telling them she and her son were “locked in the bedrooms upstairs” with the bear downstairs in the kitchen.

Police bodycam footage shows the bear running out of the house upon their arrival, ignoring the family’s pet dog in the garden, and climbing a nearby tree. “After 10 minutes, the bear climbed down and retreated back into the hills,” the Simi Valley PD said.
