Hungry wild elephant stops truck to steal food

This is the moment a hungry wild elephant stopped a passing truck to steal food. Footage shows the jumbo rummaging through the bags inside the vehicle before pulling out a bag of snacks in Songkhla province, Thailand on May 22. The elephant then opened the bag and ate the food while letting the visitors leave. No one was reported hurt in the incident. Thailand has an estimated 2,000 Asian elephants living in the wild but there is often conflict when they come into contact with humans on roads and in villages. A similar number of elephants are kept captive where they work in zoos and are hired out for religious festivals and weddings.
