Hurricane Grace Leaves Downed Branches, Flooding in Mexico's Yucatan

Hurricane Grace left flooding and downed branches in Merida, Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula, after the storm made landfall there on Thursday, August 19.

Hurricane Grace made landfall as a Category 1 storm just south of Tulum, Mexico, early on Thursday, before decreasing to a tropical storm as it moved across the peninsula.

By Friday morning the National Hurricane Center reported Grace had again strengthened to hurricane status.
