Hurricane Laura made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 4 storm early Thursday morning. The storm has battered large portions of the state as well as Texas and parts of Florida. It has since been downgraded to a Category 1 storm. At least one person has died so far, and an estimated 500,000 are without power as Laura continues inland. Authorities are warning of an "unsurvivable" storm surge, with floodwaters expected to reach over 15 feet in some areas.
