Margaret Standing
Margaret Standing died peacefully at her home on November 10.
She was the totally adored wife of Michael and amazing mum to Christine, Susan, Sara and daughter-in-law Vicky and her late son Michael.
Beautiful step-mum to Colette and Jacqueline - loved grandma and great-grandma.
Family flowers only, donations to Stoke Association.
Funeral will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, November 25 at 11.40am.
Margaret loved bright colours so please feel free to wear any colour - also please join us at the Whittaker’s Arms afterwards to share fond memories of Margaret.

Trevor Baines
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor on Saturday, November 2, aged 65 years.
He was a beloved and devoted husband to Jennifer and a great friend to many.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and work colleges.
The funeral service will take place on Monday, November 25 at Accrington Crematorium at 10.20am, followed by committal at Accrington Cemetery.
The family have requested family flowers only, donations are being received to Alzheimer’s Society.

Mildred Tomlinson
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Tomlinson of Accrington, she passed away peacefully at Hope House Care Home on Tuesday, November 12, aged 89 years.
Daughter of the late Clara and Bob, cousin to the late Brian and Brenda and beloved auntie to Kevin, Christopher, Gillian, Linda and Steven, she was also a great auntie to Rian, Bethany, Sophie, Joe, Matthew, Cerys, Cameron, Jasmine, Caleb and Immie. Mildred was a devoted member of St Andrews Church, where she ran the Sunday school, was church treasurer, a member of the Lambrusco Ladies and when she was younger the Brownie Queen.
Mildred began her working career at M & F Components Limited and finished her career there as company secretary.
She was also a member of a rambling group where she enjoyed walking in the Lake District, with her close friend the late Marion Crabtree, they also spent a lot of Sunday afternoons, having a drive out in the Ribble Valley and surrounding countryside.
Mildred’s funeral service will be held at St Andrews Church, Accrington on Monday, November 26 at 2pm, followed by a short service at Accrington Crematorium at 3pm and then the Adelaide Suite in Accrington.

Ethel (Tess) Haydock (aka Breare)
Ethel Haydock, of Stanhill Lane, Oswaldtwistle, known to most as Tess, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, aged 85 years.
For the most part Tess spent her working life in teaching, firstly at Hyndburn Park then later at Hollins.
After retiring the first time, she was head hunted and asked to launch the modern foreign languages curriculum into many of the primary schools, including Belthorn Primary and Hippings, where she also became a school governor.
She also taught French at Heathlands Private school after coming out of retirement too.
In her spare time she was heavily involved in the Girls Brigade at Rhyddings Methodist Church where she became Captain in 1966 and was a prevalent figure within the Girls Brigade community.
She also enjoyed helping at church events, the food bank and the book club. She was also a member of the Junior Missionary Association, on the committee of the Hyndburn Dance Festival and attended the Blackburn & Ribble Valley Bridge Club.
Also, in her younger years she also played netball and hockey for Lancashire and was also an avid badminton player, of which she still remains unbeaten in her family.
At home Tess enjoyed reading, sewing and baking with her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, as well as Bella her cat. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally and often talked about them proudly and constantly, particularly Jade, Liam and Alfie.
Tess was a dearly loved wife of the late John, a much loved mum of Dave, John, Michael and Lynne, a treasured grandma of Jade, Kirsty, Rachael, Joseph, Kayleigh, Danielle and Shane and a loving great grandma of Liam, Alfie, Dylan, Faith, Evie and Isla and will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11am, on Saturday, November 30, at Rhyddings Methodist Church, Oswaldtwistle.
