Post-Tropical Cyclone Ian continued to weaken near the border between Virginia and North Carolina on Saturday, October 1, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
The NHC said the storm made landfall as a category one hurricane in South Carolina on Friday. Video posted by Dave Morford on Friday shows flooding at a North Myrtle Beach resort.
The National Weather Service warned that though Ian was downgraded from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone, “heavy rain and gusty winds” continued to impact parts of the mid-Atlantic region and New England coast on Saturday. Credit: Dave Morford via Storyful
