Iconic Bristol LGBTQ venue to reopen after refurb
An iconic Bristol LGBTQ venue is set to reopen soon following a refurbishment.
The OMG Bar, which is located on Frogmore Street, has not yet announced its official reopening date, but told BristolLive it could be as early as late February. Plans are still being put in place for the bar's latest drag DJ line-up and, among posts to Instagram, the team are in the process of hiring an assistant manager.
The venue, known for its events such as Cabaret Sunday, student night, and more, is the sister venue to the popular OMG club a little further along Frogmore Street. However the brand also boasts venues in Liverpool, Plymouth and Swansea.

Usually open seven days a week from 8pm, Bristol's OMG Bar is currently closed, with shutters down, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news of its reopening. The team at OMG aren't able to provide more information on the reopening, or what fans and bar goers can expect from the new refurb, but are urging the people to stay tuned for more updates soon.
This news comes some five years after a GoFundMe page was launched to try and save Bristol's OMG Bar. Back in 2020, BristolLive reported that the venue had launched a £100,000 fundraiser in a bid to secure its future. And now, it seems, 2025 is seeing a brand new era for the landmark venue.
