iDiot: Audience Member Jumps On Stage During Play To Charge iPhone

The cast of a Broadway play were stunned when an audience member leaped onto the stage to charge his iPhone.

The unidentified man jumped on the set of Hand To God at the Booth Theatre and tried to plug in his phone charger to the socket on stage.

Sadly for him, the plug was only a prop and he couldn’t give his phone a jolt so that he could check his WhatsApp messages.

He may have wanted to check his WhatsApp messages but the actors in the play weren’t quite as sympathetic to his needs.

Cast member Sarah Stiles later tweeted her astonishment at what happened.

She wrote: A guy jumped on the stage and plugged his phone into the fake outlet on our set just before we started. #fullmoon or #idiot?”

Fellow cast member Marc Kudisch added: “Dear general audience, an electrical socket that’s a part of the set of the play is NOT for you to charge your iPhone…..just an FYI…..”

Eyewitness Chris York wrote about the incident on Facebook, saying that the crew stopped the play and removed the man’s phone before making an announcement about why it wasn’t allowed.

He added: “I am a quiet and reserved person and I took great joy in loudly heckling the idiot when he returned to take his phone back.

“Moron. Has theatre etiquette - heck, Common Sense - [really] fallen that far??”
