Idris Elba's daughter Isan had AWKWARD reaction to his Sexiest Man Alive title

Idris Elba’s daughter is not a fan of her dad being hailed the Sexiest Man Alive.

Isan Elba, 16, said she was looking forward to finding out who had been honoured with the title – only to discover it was her famous father.

Recalling the moment to People she said: “Actually, I was on Instagram. People said, ‘Oh, we’re announcing the Sexiest Man Alive,’ and I was like, ‘Oh yes, can’t wait’.

“I wake up in the morning and it’s my dad. I was like, ‘This is not what I was expecting. This is not very fun’.”

She said she had an awkward conversation with the Luther star the following day as he teased her over his new accolade.

She continued: “When I called him the day after, not even about it, he was like, ‘Do you have anything to say to me?’ And I said, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ Then he said, ‘I’m the Sexiest Man Alive’. I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. That. That thing. Uh, okay, cool. You’re welcome’.”

Isan was speaking at a press event announcing her role as the Golden Globe Ambassador.

Idris, who will host this year's Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday, was “honoured and thankful” to take the 2018 title from People, admitting it is an ego boost.

Alongside a picture of himself on the publication’s front cover he wrote: “Who’d have thought it! Thank you @people & all the fans for naming me #SexiestManAlive… I'm honoured & thankful.”

He also took the opportunity to encourage his fans to vote, posting: “What’s even more important is your vote in the midterm elections. Your vote can make a difference!”
