Idris Elba Has Fingers Crossed His New Hip Hop Song Tops Charts

Luther actor Idris Elba hopes to top the charts with his new song.

The Golden Globe winner, who also DJs, recorded vocals for new track Dance Off by US band Ryan Lewis and Macklemore, below.

Elba, pictured DJ’ing below, dons Macklemore’s furs to sing the chorus at the start of the track’s music video, plays the organ and moshes with Macklemore.

The promo, recently released online in the US, is getting huge viewing figures.

Elba sings: “I challenge you to a dance off / Hands off, no trash talk, no back walk / On the black top, just me, you, that’s all / No cat calls, no tag teams, no mascots.”

It has been the fastest moving Twitter track, according to Billboard’s Trending 140.
