I’m A Celebrity 2016: Is Spencer Matthews Returning To The Jungle After Steroid Scandal?

Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews is reportedly set to make a dramatic return to ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here this autumn – one year after he was axed from the show following his steroid revelation.

The reality TV star, 26, arrived in the jungle alongside Vicky Pattison and Ferne McCann in 2015, but unlike his campmates – who both secured places in the final – he was removed from the series after just 24 hours.

It was later revealed that the producers made the decision after he had admitted to using steroids, with Spencer revealing at the time: “Taking these pills was a serious error of judgment. I loved every minute of being in the jungle.

“Hoping for another shot at it someday.”

His second chance might arrive sooner than expected though, as series bosses have offered the Eton-educated star a £50,000 contract to return to this year’s series, according to The Mirror.

“Spencer was cut up at being chucked out of the jungle and has worked hard all year to change his ways,” an insider commented.

“He’s steered clear of big-money trashy telly like Celebrity Big Brother, has kept in touch with the team at I’m A Celeb and wants to make it up to his family and fans.”

After former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, 26, was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year, show bosses are reportedly keen to sign up a selection of ex-reality stars.

Alongside the MIC lothario, other names rumoured to be taking on the delectable diet of witchety grubs include Geordie Shore’s Sophie Kasaei and Stephanie Davis’ ex-boyfriend Sam Reece.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here will return to ITV for its 16th series in November.
