I’m A Celebrity 2016: Tom Fletcher hints that he’s joining the jungle line-up

McFly’s Tom Fletcher has sparked speculation that he could be about to appear in the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Sending his fans into an absolute frenzy, the ex-boyband star appeared to post a cryptic clue on Instagram, telling his followers he had received a cockroach in the post. Its not every day you receive one of those, is it?

Sharing a close-up snap of the bug lying on shredded paper in a cardboard box, the singer wrote: “You know it’s a going to be a cool package when you open it to find this…”

Fans instantly assumed that this was his way of telling them that he’s going to be eating bugs for the next few weeks on the ITV1 show. Getting in some practice early, eh?

One wrote: “Is Tom gonna be on I’m a celeb??? That’s makes me wanna watch it this year!! Oooh! (sic)” As another added: “You’ve just made me so excited if you are actually on I’m a celeb.”

While the chances of him appearing as a celebrity campmate might still seem remote, it would not be completely unexpected either, as boyband stars typically fair well in the jungle.

Tom’s friend and bandmate Dougie Poynter took the trip down under in 2011, and was subsequently crowned the King of the Jungle, narrowly stealing the crown from TOWIE star Mark Wright.

Speaking about his victory at the time, Dougie said: “I’m so stoked, I’m gobsmacked, my head is just spinning a million miles an hour. I’m the king, I’m actually a king!”

Along with Tom, there have been a whole host of famous faces linked to the survival-themed series, including former campmate Craig Charles, Cheryl’s ex Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and Lauren Hutton, Michael Jackson’s former doctor Conrad Murray, Absolutely Fabulous star Helen Lederer, Team GB Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, and many, MANY more.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here returns to our screens in November.
