I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is back in the jungle for the first time since 2019 and there's plenty to look forward to in this year's series.

From famous campmates to a change in schedule, we've got you covered for all you need to know about the ITV show's return to Australia.

When does I'm A Celebrity 2022 start?

The series is set to begin on Sunday, 6 November at 9pm on ITV.

It will air straight after a Masked Singer/I'm A Celebrity mash-up special, scheduled for 7.30pm.

Episodes air nightly at 9pm, with Ant and Dec presenting live from Australia and giving a round-up of the previous day's events, before entering the camp live at the end of episodes once the evictions start to tell campmates who is up for the public vote.

As contestants start to be voted out, evictions and exit interviews will also be aired live in the nightly episodes, as well as some live challenges.

Why is I'm A Celebrity starting early this year?

Keen fans of the show might have noticed that this year's series has been scheduled for an early start, with the first episode usually airing in mid to late November.

That's because of the knock-on effect of the World Cup taking place in winter rather than its usual summer fixtures.

With ITV one of the major broadcasters for matches, the earlier timing of I'm A Celebrity means the contest will have wrapped up before the football gets to its later stages.

When is the I'm A Celebrity 2022 final?

Campmates usually have to stick it out in the competition for three weeks to win, with the final airing in December most other years.

However, the early start means it looks likely that the contest will be all wrapped up by the end of November - with the King or Queen of the Jungle expected to be crowned on Sunday, 27 November.

The final date is yet to be confirmed by ITV.

This year's line-up hit headlines before the series started, largely due to one contestant who won't even be in the starting group of 10.

Disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has confirmed that he will take part in the series, to much criticism from other MPs, COVID bereavement groups, and the general public.

Although he is still an elected MP, he has had the parliamentary whip suspended meaning that for the run of the series at least, he is no longer considered a member of the Conservative Party.

Hancock arrived in Brisbane airport and told The Sun: "The truth is, I haven’t lost my marbles or had one too many pina coladas. It’s something I’ve given a lot of thought to. I was elected by the people, and it’s important to engage with voters, especially younger voters, no matter where they are, and show the human side of politicians."

He is expected to enter camp as a late addition, with comedian Seann Walsh - also famous for kissing a different woman to the one he was in a relationship with - rumoured to be joining him.

Fans have questioned why Boy George is pictured in the show's promo photos wearing a different outfit to the regulation khaki and red uniform - instead, sporting a polka-dot jacket and trademark oversized hat.

In 2018, Ant took one year off to complete a stint in rehab and was replaced by Holly Willoughby, but otherwise the lads have hosted every series since it began in 2002.

Where is the camp for I'm A Celebrity 2022?

Rejoice, jungle fans - the series finally makes its return to Australia for the first time since 2019 this year.

For the last two series, I'm A Celebrity has been unable to film in Australia because of COVID travel restrictions and set up temporary camp at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales instead.

Cast and crew had to battle the elements in the 2021 series when for the first time ever, the show was forced off air for a number of days by the weather as Storm Arwen ripped through camp.

The camp is back at its old setting of Springbrook National Park near Murwillumbah in New South Wales for 2022.
