I'm A Celebrity fans hope Alan Halsall makes good on Coleen Corrie comment

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! fans are urging Alan Halsall to stick to his word and get Coleen Rooney a job in Coronation Street when they leave the jungle.

The actor — who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the cobbles — took on a Bushtucker trial with the WAG on the ITV reality show and afterwards they decided to pretend to their fellow campers that they had done worse than they actually did.

It seems Halsall was impressed with Rooney’s acting chops, as he quipped that he was going to get her a part in the ITV soap. And fans now want it to become a reality.

What, how and why?

The pair tackled the Farmyard of Fear trial together on Monday, 2 December. It saw them having to transport jungle nasties from a silo into a wheelbarrow, and then to some weighing scales. The more weight they added to the scales, the more meals they would win for camp, with 10 minutes to win all 10 available stars.

Rooney and Halsall rose to the challenge, securing all of the stars. But as they walked back to camp they came up with a plan to pretend they had only won two, so that they could then surprise their fellow contestants with a slap-up 10-star meal later on.

"I’ll do my best acting skills, you can mark me out of 10!” quipped Rooney.

After she pulled off her part of the act, Halsall joked: “I’ll be getting you a job in Coronation Street before you know it! She’ll be the barmaid of the Rovers Return before you know it!”

What did viewers say?

Viewers said they were keen to see Rooney — who is married to footy ace Wayne Rooney — on the cobbles after Halsall teased it, with some urging soap bosses to make it happen.

One person posted on X: "Hahahaha starting a petition for this to come true. @ColeenRoo would be brilliant in Corrie. Imagine the guest appearance from Wazza as well."

"I will be holding Alan to his promise of a job in Corrie for Coleen… it's what we need," another fan wrote on the platform.

One urged: "@ColeenRoo in @ITVCorrie is a genius idea. Long lost sister of Carla Connor! We need this to happen in the very near future. @ITV/@WeAreSTV - SORT IT IMMEDIATELY!"

Sharing a GIF of someone typing frantically on a computer, another viewer joked: "The writers of Coronation Street right now."

Someone else agreed: "Coleen was very convincing. She should take up acting!" "That is great acting from Coleen and Alan," remarked another viewer, adding: "They're good. Sign them both up for something."
