It was treat time in the I’m A Celebrity camp tonight as the contestants were given their luxury items, including tear-jerking family pictures, memory-filled blankets...and curl cream.

One of the highlights for celebrities taking part in the ITV show is the moment when they win their luxury items, a treat they chose before entering camp to help get them through dark and lonely moments.

It’s often an emotional experience to receive them - Victoria Derbyshire welled up over a photo of her family, Jessica Plummer was in tears with her mug showing a picture of her daughter, and Vernon Kay snuggled up with a blanket his family use when watching TV.

Meanwhile, AJ Pritchard was reunited with his curl cream.

He said: “It is very important to me because it stops my hair going frizzy, but also it reminds me of home, of feeling fresh and starting the day right.”

The dancer’s hair has been looking a little fluffy and out of control since moving into the castle, so he was understandably relieved to be able to tame his locks.

Giovanna Fletcher went for an item that was meant for the whole camp, as she chose three plays of S Club 7’s Reach to use in moments when their spirits needed lifting.

The contestants used one of the plays to dance to as the luxuries were dropped into camp.

Talking about dancing, Derbyshire said: “It was so uplifting, a touching few minutes that I’ll never ever forget.”

Other packages arriving at the castle included Hollie Arnold’s 10-year-old dressing gown, Shane Richie’s daughter’s shower gel, and Jordan North’s beloved Burnley scarf, something that should help remind him of his “happy place” Turf Moor which has got him through a number of trials.

New campmates Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshall won the luxury items for their co-stars by successfully carrying out a secret mission during the day.

Their challenges included convincing the camp to say that Shakespeare was baptised “Walter” in a Kiosk Cledwyn question, and pretending to have seen a ghost.

I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
