I’m A Celebrity’s Lady Colin Campbell Hits Out At Tony Hadley And Duncan Bannatyne

Lady Colin Campbell has spoken about her shock exit from I’m A Celebrity for the first time.

While ITV said she left on ‘medical grounds’, reports from sources, her agent and Lady C herself claim it was ‘bullying’ from campmates Tony Hadley and Duncan Bannatyne that drove her out of the jungle.

Speaking after returning to her hotel, Lady C revealed: “It feels absolutely wonderful to be out of the jungle and in civilisation again. It was not the experience I was expecting in any way, shape or form. In many ways it was far more pleasurable and pleasant.

“I was nominated for the first trial with Jorgie which came as no surprise to me because I was obviously the grandest person in the camp we know that the British public are obsessed with class.

“After it became apparent I was getting all of the attention it caused a tremendous amount of bad feeling in the camp and then it became increasingly difficult.

“Tony’s refusal (to be chambermaid) became personal because I was a Lady with a capital L. Had I been asked to be chambermaid, of course I would have done it, I am a sport. And I don’t have a chip on my shoulder.

“I think there were so many arguments because Duncan and Tony had taken the decision to shut me up, shut me down and run me out of the camp.

“Kieron and Chris were wonderfully supportive, they showed themselves to be true gentlemen and I would hope we remain lifelong friends.

“There is no prospect of me ever having Tony or Duncan in my life in any way, shape or form. They have earned my disregard…they will have to live with it.”

It’s now thought Lady C could take legal action against ITV, although a source for the channel told The Daily Mail: “She may have felt she was being bullied, but viewers can make up their own minds from what they have seen.

“We feel we have accurately represented what has happened on the campsite.”

Another source added: “What went on was some bickering between adults — it was not bullying. As everyone has seen, she gives as good as she gets. In fact, it is she who has been making all the personal insults and she was also the one who started most of the arguments. It is bizarre for her to claim she was bullied.”

Meanwhile, her agent Mike Hollingsworth told This Morning: “The official statement is she’s left due to a medical condition. I know that she suffered a fall in the jungle camp and because of that viewers will have seen that she has been using a special chair to sit on for a little while, and that has clearly gotten worse.

“I have spoken to her and she is sad to be out. I think the medical condition might have been exacerbated by a certain amount of bullying she has been receiving by two particular campmates.”

The Daily Mail reports that agents for Tony Hadley and Duncan Bannatyne have strongly denied any bullying on their part.
