'I'm Australian - there's one big difference with UK chocolate that's blown my mind'
The UK and Australia have many of the same cultural references - but many differences too.
We both have Cadbury's - but it's not exactly the same. British chocolate tends to have a higher cocoa content and less sugar than Australian chocolate. The milk used also tastes different depending on which country it's from.
But it turns out it isn't just the ingredients that are completely different. There's another big difference between the UK and Australia which one online content creator just can't get her head around - the shape of the bars.

Musician Jess Chate, also known as Serendipiti, from Australia, pointed out the huge "cultural difference" in a recent TikTok. She said: "I just wanted to draw awareness to the fact that in the UK they do their chocolate in landscape. It's in landscape. All of ours is in portrait. It's the little things."
Jess was referring to the orientation of the chocolate bars - meaning in the UK they are horizontal, while in the UK the packaging is vertical. For example, if you compare a British Cadbury bar to an Australian one, you will see the packaging is very different.
And it turns out Jess wasn't the only one who was mind-blown by the difference. "The most original take on cultural differences I've heard," said one person. "Help I grew up in the UK why have I never realised this ever," commented another.
A third wrote: "Landscape and portrait chocolate. It's so normal for us Brits I never noticed lol."
But others explained there are certain times when chocolate is 'portrait' in the UK. "Portrait chocolate is posh chocolate, landscape is more basic but still delicious," said one person. Another agreed, adding: "Unless it's posh chocolate then it's portrait."
Another online content creator called Tay, who used to live in Australia with her English boyfriend Alex, recently compared the Australian Cadbury to the British one in a TikTok video. After trying a piece, she said: "Completely different flavour than the Australian Cadbury. A lot creamier. I feel like the Australian Cadbury tastes very artificial in a way where it was almost like a fruity flavour. [...] I don't know. It was just a weird taste, I didn't like it. This is good. I rate that."
