As I’m A Celebrity contestants complete their third full week in the Australian wilderness, many viewers have speculated whether they really have left behind all of their home luxuries like makeup as stars like Coleen Rooney still keeping up their camera-worthy good looks. While show bosses have reassured that no one was given special treatment or allowed to bend the rules this year, one expert believes some stars could be utilising a few loopholes.

Franchesca Villar, Beauty Editor at Cosmetify highlighted that even the surprise campers are given plenty of notice that they’ll be heading to the jungle, giving them time to get some more permanent beauty fixtures. She explained: “There are a number of ways celebrities can tiptoe around I’m A Celebrity’s strict makeup rules, such as lash extensions or tattooed makeup.

“These might create the impression that they’ve been given special treatment when in reality they’re completely bare-faced. This ties into the recent trend of a high maintenance routine designed to make you look low maintenance, which gained popularity on TikTok earlier this year.

“The aim of these treatments is to invest in seemingly high-effort habits in a bid to streamline your makeup look for a more natural and effortless look.” Franchesca shared her own top high maintenance treatment to achieve the ‘effortless low maintenance’ look.

Lashes are among some of the most common permanent makeup services, but it can often be quite a pricey investment in your look. Instead, Franchesca recommended some at-home lash lift kits that allow you to customise the results and can last up to 6 weeks with plenty of clips online from beauty gurus and influencers explaining best practices.

Another social media trend turned beauty staple are lip stains, the long-lasting, smudge-proof, waterproof and transfer-proof alternative to lipstick. Lip stains typically last a full day but Franchesca added: “If you want an even bolder finish, you can reapply a second coat. For the best results, prep your lips beforehand with an exfoliator to create a nice, smooth base.”

Brow tints are also incredibly popular and can be done at home slightly cheaper than at a salon, however it does come with the nerve-wracking process of trying to perfectly colour match your eyebrows and mixing shades properly to achieve the desired look. Franchesca noted that semi-permanent tints can last anywhere from 24 hours to 2 months depending on the brand.
