"Very excited. Starting on the 30th December for the whole week – ten in the evening until one in the morning. Perfect for me. Frankly perfect. So very, very excited."

Dom is best known for hosting, producing and directing the Channel 4 comedy Trigger Happy TV, which ran from 2000 to 2003.

The show saw the comedian deliberately enter embarrassing situations in public places across the country, which were filmed by cameraman Sam Cadman.

Its hilarious sketches and hidden camera pranks quickly became a fan-favourite, earning the show a dedicated fanbase in over 70 countries.

Trigger Happy TV returned for a one-off Christmas special in 2016, before a new series aired in 2017.

Dom has gone on to release several travel books and has recently finished his UK comedy tour, which saw him discuss conspiracy theories from around the world.

The comedian also appeared on the tenth series of I'm a Celebrity, where he came in fourth place behind Jenny Eclair, Shaun Ryder and Queen of the Jungle Stacey Solomon.

Speaking about his experience in Australia, Dom previously revealed that he didn't miss the "distractions" from his day-to-day life.

"I loved it, it was 23 days where I had no distractions, no phone, nothing to worry about," he said on The Matt Haycox Show.

"Everything was taken care of for you, you had basic food – rice and beans were fine. I lost two stone in there."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! starts on November 17 on ITV1 and ITVX.
