After leaving her shaken up with the news she'd be doing a Bushtucker Trial on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, hosts Ant and Dec could only look in horror as it took an alarming turn on Monday night.

Having screamed her way through the first challenge before the stars on the I'm A Celebrity 2024 line-up had even entered the jungle, podcast host and Loose Women newcomer GK made herself a prime target for the public vote, as viewers were asked by Ant and Dec to choose a celeb to take on the Vile Volcano trial.

As it always is on I'm A Celebrity, it was the job of the Geordie presenters to break the news to camp on who had been picked to do the trial and, when it came down to either her or BBC DJ Dean McCullough, GK was heard muttering: "Let it be Dean. Let it be Dean!" before her face turned pale as her name was read out.

Millions of viewers tuned into Monday's second episode to see how GK, who declared: "I'm going to die!" on being told she was doing the trial, would get on. And the answer was, a lot better than expected, as, despite seeming terrified throughout and swearing her head off, the social media star got a fantastic 9 out of 10 stars, having said minutes either she'd 'been happy with five.'

There was however one scary moment when GK was passing through the spider's cave and ended up with a huge spider on top of her helmet, much to Ant and Dec’s terror as they watched on. And then, after being told about the spider once the trial was over, GK admitted she 'would have freaked out' had she known what was going on.

After featuring heavily in Sunday's new series launch, GK remains the second favourite to win I'm A Celebrity this year, although her odds drifted out slightly to 5/1 overnight.
