Union J star and I'm a Celebrity contestant George Shelley has returned to social media following an 18-month break.
George returned to the spotlight with a lengthy Instagram post, in which he reassured fans that he was doing "good" and had been spending his time away doing things he "loves the most", like "designing, writing, learning, exploring [and] expanding."
The young singer took a break from social media following the tragic death of his sister Harriet, who passed away aged 21 after being struck by a car. As he processed his loss, Shelley also fronted a BBC Three documentary about young people and grief.
"Hey! Been a while, the break was much needed. How are you?" George wrote in his first Instagram post, before going on to say that he had chosen to "step offline" as a way to "heal, realign" and practise self-care.
Reflecting on his decision to quit social media, he said that he had undergone a "very confusing and unpredictable journey" where "fear" held him back.
"The road I took this last decade was far from home and I got lost in escapism, judgement, social pressures [and] approval seeking," he added.
Thanking fans for "sticking" with him, George also pre-empted fans' questions about where he had been and what he'd been up to.
"So to answer questions like, 'Are you ok? Where have you been? What's next? What have you been doing?' I'd say, on this ever changing, unsettling & overwhelming planet over the last year, I'm good," he wrote.
"I have enjoyed doing things I love the most; designing, writing, learning, exploring & expanding."
Sharing his hopes for the future, George continued: "Now is a time for sharing – visions for the future, things we're up to and fun memories over the past couple years. This is a time to prepare for greater good to come."
I'm a Celebrity airs on ITV.
