Joel Dommett is a busy bee this year, taking on his first solo presenting gig with ITV2 show Hey Tracey!.

But the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! favourite admitted he's keen to make time in his schedule to take part in the popular Dave series Taskmaster.

"I really want to do it," he exclusively told Digital Spy. "I really wanted to do the last series. Fingers crossed for the next series, but we're waiting for the right moment.

"I genuinely love the show. Alex Horne is one of my favourite people in the world, as is Greg Davies. I think that show is something that has completely changed the landscape of television in a weirdly silent way.

"Now everyone goes into a meeting room and goes, 'I kind of want it like Taskmaster'. Celebrity Juice was the last time something changed the landscape of television 10 years ago when everyone was saying how good it was, and how we should continue making it."

He added: "Panel shows – people in the middle, three people behind desks – became synonymous with Celeb Juice and everyone got slightly tired of that format and that is the one that has continued as it's like the original.

"Taskmaster is exactly the same way because it's essentially a panel show, but it has been done in such a different way you would never identify it as that. It's so active and fun and fresh.

"In short, yes!"

Speaking about his new show Hey Tracey!, Joel explained: "It's essentially celebrities calling random numbers asking for help on a quiz show.

"It's so funny, and it was so fun to record. Like Joey Essex calling a random business and asking them for help. They don't know he's calling and them not knowing the answer to the question and thinking it's really weird, and him being like, 'Do you know who Joey Essex is? I'm Joey Essex!'

"They all approached it in such different ways and it's all encased in this strange world of Tracey which is a shit Siri from Wigan. The reason I said yes to it is because I felt like I hadn't seen it before and it just felt so fun. And it was really fun!"

Hey Tracey! is on ITV2 on Mondays at 10pm.
